The Bible Is One Story

Chris Heeb talks about the one story of scripture. Too often the scriptures get divided up between two halfs, and the Old Testament is considered great for stories on faith, but has little to do with the meat of scripture which many Christians think is only found in the New Testament. The ministry of Good News for Israel is to challenge the theology of the Church where people teach that Jesus came to start a new religion. When you study the New Testament you quickly realize that much of what it speaks about is based on a historical foundation found in the Old Testament. We like to say that the Bible is one story, it is His story from Genesis to Revelation. Everything Jesus taught, and most of what the New Testament writers wrote about has cultural, and contexual connections, and without understanding those connections, you will misinterpret what is being said. It has been our contention, that many false prophets who don't really know the context of the scriptures will interpret it to mean what they want it to say. This is where the Church can stand against such teaching by knowing the Hebraic Root of scripture with it's proper context. Many false teachers have used Old Testament scriptures to make a point for a prophetic interpretation for the modern church, when the scripture was meant only for ancient Israel. So, learning scripture from a Hebraic Root foundation prepares you for false interpretations and misconceptions that are often found in the Church.
